Chambersburg 3, Cedar Cliff 1: The Trojans scored the last two goals of the game to hand the Colts a Mid Penn Commonwealth defeat and halt a four-game losing streak.

“After being off for more than a week, we finally got back to playing,” Trojan coach Ed Franchi said. “We possessed the ball most of the first half, but couldn’t find the back of the net, but we came out with a little more intensity and movement in the second half and punched in three goals.”

Gabby Lecuona broke the ice 18 minutes into the second half on a pass from Brooke Huntsman. After Cedar Cliff tied the score, Chambersburg (5-5, 3-4 MPC) went ahead five minutes later when Huntsman scored off a pass from Layne Kimple.

Lecuona’s second goal, with four minutes left, sealed the win.

“Huntsman had a real nice game, and Emily Mort and Ashley Bawell continue to be solid on defense,” Franchi said.

The Trojans out-shot the Colts, 13-7, and goalkeeper Caitlin Massaberg made five saves.
