Hott’s 6 goals spur Blazers to 11-0 rout

Kenneth Hott scored six goals, leading the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers to an 11-0 rout of Faith Christian Friday in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference boys soccer game.

“Kenneth came out on fire, hitting shots from everywhere and scoring a double hat trick,” Blazers coach Stan Hott said. “If he was left with space, he was scoring a goal. The team played well and stepped up after last night’s tough loss (5-3 to St. Maria Goretti).”

Hott scored all four of the Blazers’ goals in the first half on assists from Jimmy Hong (twice), Blaine Minnier and Triston Horn. He knocked in his fifth goal early in the second half on a feed from Ryan Winters, and the sixth, assisted by Horn, banked off the crossbar to give the Blazers (10-1, 8-0 MDCC) an 8-0 cushion.

Also for the Blazers, Caleb Eckert scored from inside the box on an assist from Joel Vandersleen, Vandersleen kicked in a shot on an assist from Isaac Kauffeldt, Minnier drilled home a long shot on an assist from Elijah Randolph, YeGeon Choi scored on an assist from Randolph, and Nathan Statler sent in the final goal.

The Blazers peppered Faith’s goal with 40 shots and had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. Jack Gabler made 11 saves in goal.
