NEWVILLE — It took the Blue Devil girls soccer team just over 12 minutes to score first in Saturday’s game at Big Spring,  Following that it was all Greencastle as they defeated the Lady Bulldogs 7-0 in a Mid Penn Colonial Division matchup.

Courtney Andruczk opened the scoring with the first of three first half goals for the Blue Devils to be followed by Maddie Sherrill and Ashley Noblit.  The Blue Devils added four more goals in the second half, all or them coming in a six minute and 16 second span late in the second half.  Sherrill and Noblit each scored twice while Andruczk, Sayge Wilhide and Avery Parks each scored for the Blue Devils.

“My team worked well together and really approached the game wanting to try some of the runs and strategies we have been practicing.” said Head Coach Katie Herman.

The win on Saturday ended a two game losing streak for the Blue Devils, who are now 2 and 3 on the season, 1-2 in the Colonial Division.  “Maddie Sherrill and Ashley Noblit both had incredible offensive games with lots great shots on goal.  I’m very pleased with my teams performance.” said Herman.  Greencastle goaltender Hannah Beeler needed to make just two saves in the game to earn the shutout.
