McConnellsburg, Pa. – The Lady Spartans (1-0, 1-0 ICC) picked up a big Inter County Conference win against Everett in their home opener. (25-15, 14-25, 22-25, 27-25, 15-10) Leading the Lady Spartans was Katelyn Truax with 16 kills, 7 aces, 8 digs and 2 blocks. Aryanna Lupey added 5 kills, 7 digs and 2 aces. Kylie Brown had 4 kills and 2 blocks. Libero, Megan Fix had 11 digs. Lexi Hoover had 3 kills and 4 digs. Setters Lexi Lupey snd Mariah Christy each had 15 assists. Lady Spartan Coach Kellee Truax commented, “I am very proud of the girls for fighting back and not giving up.” McConnellsburg is back in action on Monday, September 10th at home against CVCS.

Willow Hill, Pa.- Fannett Metal (1-0) defeated Hyndman Charter in 3 matches: (25-13, 25-10, 25-13) Kierstin Black led the Lady Tigers with 22 service points, 11 aces, and 12 assists. Lynnzie McClure had 6 kills and Haleigh Dunkle added 3 digs in the win. Lady Tiger Coach Keri Daniel commented, “I’m happy with the win, gave me the opportunity to see where we need some work for our upcoming games.” The Lady Tigers return to action today (9/7) against Mercersburg Academy at home.
