The Shippensburg Post 223 American Legion team took several major steps this summer. With basically the same players on the Shippensburg High School team that struggled to win games, they began a run of success in Legion baseball.

Post 223 won the Franklin County American Legion title and will move on to Region 4 play this weekend at Diller Field in Hanover.

They will host Lancaster county champion Ephrata Friday at 12:00 noon at Diller Field.

Win or lose, they will play again on Saturday. Time and opponent to be determined. They will also be joined at the tournament by fellow Franklin County foe Waynesboro. Waynesboro will play the 9:30 AM game against York County champion Pleasureville.
