GREENSBORO, N.C. — Chambersburg graduate Abby Yourkavitch put one more exclamation point on her fine high school career Friday.

Competing at the New Balance National Outdoor track & field championships in Greensboro, N.C., Yourkavitch ran a personal best time to place 10th in the girls 5,000-meter race.

Yourkavitch, who will attend East Carolina University in the fall, ran a time of 17:20.78 to win her heat and take 10th overall in the field of 36 elite runners. The winner, Heidi Nielson of Katy, Tex. was clocked in 16:55.76.
