McConnellsburg 15 Fannett Metal 5

Willow Hill, Pa. – #6 McConnellsburg (10-10) traveled to #3 Fannett Metal (13-7) in the first round of the District V Class A softball playoffs and came away with a 15 to 5 victory. The Lady Spartans pounded out sixteen hits. Madison Koontz led McConnellsburg going three for four picking up her 100th career hit. Matty Ross was three for five while Destiny Hall, Sami Hensley , Julia Lafferty, and Kailey Swope added two hits each. Destiny Hall got the win. Lady Spartans Coach Dana Winters commented, “This was the best game of the season for us. Hall pitched a great game and we hit the ball hard all game.” McConnellsburg will play the #2 seed Shanksville on Tuesday, May 29, at Everett at 4:00.
