Softball Roundup 5/1/18 Fulton/FM

Fannett Metal 9 Tussey Mt. 1

Saxton, Pa. Fannett-Metal (7-5) struck first, putting up three runs in the first and never looked back.  Tussey managed their lone run in the second, but the Lady Tigers answered scoring six additional runs in the third, fifth, and sixth innings.  Claudia Umbrell and Kassie Holtry each recorded extra base hits.  In the sixth on back to back pitches, Holtry doubled, followed by an Umbrell triple.  Jealee Stouffer had two hits and three RBI’s for the victors and Jade Rhodes had two hits with two RBI’s, while pitching a complete game on the rubber.  Rhodes struck out five, allowed three singles, and did not give up an earned run. Fannett-Metal travels to Southern Huntingdon tomorrow for a 5:30 start.

Southern Fulton 5 Hancock 4

Warfordsburg, Pa. Southern Fulton beat Hancock, avenging an earlier one run loss to the Panthers Tuesday night. The winning pitcher was Kylie Golden and the losing Pitcher was C. Keefer. Kierstyn Morton was two for three with the game winning RBI, while Kylie Golden went two for three as well. Macey Ward was one for three with an RBI and Nichole Youngblood was one for two with an RBI. The lady Indians are now 5-8. The Lady Indians travel to Everett on Friday for a double header with a 2:00 start.

McConnellsburg 8 Southern Huntingdon 5

Mcconnellsburg, Pa. McConnellsburg (6-5) hosted league rival Southern Huntingdon and avenged an earlier loss by downing the Rockets 8 to 5. For the Lady Spartans Madison Koontz was two for three, Carrie Glee was two for two, and Destiny Hall picked up the win. McConnellsburg tagged Southern Huntingdon pitching for fourteen hits. Lady Spartan Coach Dana Winters said, “Our team played together, both offensively and defensively.” McConnellsburg travels to Fannett Metal on Thursday with a 4:30 start.

Chestnut Ridge 15 Forbes Road 0

Hustontown, Pa. Forbes Road dropped a Sideling Hill League contest Chestnut Ridge 15-0 in three innings. The Cardinals will host Tussey Mt. this afternoon (5/2) at 4:30.
