Trojans dominate Rams in 7th for a 10-1 baseball victory


Chambersburg 10, Central Dauphin 1: The Trojans snapped a 3-game losing skid by scoring 7 runs in the top of the seventh to dust Central Dauphin in a Mid Penn Commonwealth game on a rainy Tuesday.

In the seventh, three runs scored on bases-loaded walks, one on an error, one on a wild pitch and Austin Kopp knocked in two with a single.

Chambersburg (4-6, 3-4 MPC) got some fine pitching to hold the Rams in check. Skylar McLean earned the win, tossing 5 2/3 innings and allowing only 3 hits and one run, and striking out 6. Kaden Hoover threw the final 1 1/3 innings, giving up 2 hits and fanning 3.

The Trojans racked up 10 hits, led by Kopp’s 3-for-5 performance that included a triple, double and 3 RBIs. Spencer Hockensmith and Andrew Wurtz each went 2-for-3, and Max Armstrong was 2-for-4 with a double.
