Nathan Starliper went 6 2/3 innings allowing just 4 hits and  striking out 10 to lead the Blue Devils to a 5-1 win over the James Buchanan Rockets at Mercersburg Friday afternoon.

Greencastle got out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Josh Painter singled and scored on a Max McDowell ground out. Greencastle got another run on an RBI single by Jimmy Beavers.

The Blue Devils made it 4-0 in the fifth as Nathan Starliper doubled, Hunter Forney  delivered an RBI single, with another run crossing the plate when the ball was misplayed. Cade McDowell had an RBI single in the seventh to put the Blue Devils up 5-0. The Rockets scored their only run on the day on an RBI from Gavin Barnes in the bottom of the seventh.

Greencastle is now 2-0 on the year, James Buchanan falls to 1-1. Greencastle travels to West York Saturday for a makeup game that can be heard on Mid Penn Broadcasting beginning with the pregame show at 11:45 a.m.
