Chambersburg 16, Red Land 3: The Trojans racked up 16 hits, including 4 players with 2 each, to hand Red Land a big Mid Penn Commonwealth defeat on Friday at Norlo Park.
Kara Neidigh had a pair of hits and drove in 3 runs to lead the way for Chambersburg (2-0, 2-0 MPC). Also getting two hits each were Haiden Brookens, Mackenzie Stake and Molly Keefer.
Stake and Rebecca Fischer belted triples, and Neidigh, Keefer and Brooklyn Miller each had a double.
Sophia Loukopoulos pitched 4 innings to record the win, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits, and Stake hurled one hitless inning.
BASEBALL
Red Land 17, Chambersburg 2: The Patriots showed why they are the Mid Penn Commonwealth favorite by dumping the Trojans on Friday in three innings.
Starter Kaden Hoover had a rough start for Chambersburg (1-1, 1-1 MPC), giving up five hits, four walks and six runs in the first inning. Three Trojan pitchers combined to allow 17 hits and 17 runs in 2.2 innings of work.
For the Trojans, Spencer Seaman and Max Armstrong hit doubles, and Austin Kopp and Hoover hit singles. Armstrong and Hoover had runs batted in.
