Fannett Metal 6 Southern Fulton 1

Fannett Metal (1-0, 1-0 SHL, 1-0, ICC) hosted league rival Southern Fulton (0-1, 0-1 SHL, 0-1 ICC) and broke open a close game in the bottom of the 5th for a 6-1 win. In the bottom of the first, Morgan Ritchey walked followed by a bunt attempt by Jamie Adams.  The ball was overthrown to 2nd base and rolled to the fence allowing both runners to score.  Fannett-Metal tacked on 4 more runs in the bottom of the 5th on a 2 RBI double by Taylor Coffman, who finished with two hits, and a 2 RBI single by Jamie Adams.  Jade Rhodes started and got the win for the Lady Tigers.  Kassie Holtry came on in relief in the 5th.  Kylie Golden finished with 2 hits for the Lady Indians and scored Southern Fulton’s lone run. Cheyenne Miller and Janelle Appel both doubled for the Indians.

Northern Bedford 15 McConnellsburg 13

McConnellsburg (0-1, 0-1 SHL, 0-1 ICC) traveled Northern Bedford for a league contest and was handed a 15 to 13 loss. Kailey Swipe led the Spartans going 4 for 6 at the plate. Spartan Head Coach Dana Winters commented, Our team as a whole batted well. But we had too many errors. We need to tighten up the defense.” McConnellsburg is scheduled to host Tussey Mt. today (4/6) at 4:30.
