Shanksville 47 Southern Fulton 46
Southern Fulton dropped a heartbreaker tonight at home to the Shanksville Vikings in the Semifinals of the District 5A playoffs, 47-46. The Indians dominated the first 16 minutes of play as they took a 30-21 lead to the locker room at half. Unfortunately, turnovers and defensive miscues led to their demise as the Indians were outscored 26-16 in the final two quarters. Dawson Snyder had a game high 27 points for the Vikings. The Indians were led by Justin Morris and Gabe Stotler’s 11 points each. Indian Coach Kent Hendershot commented, “It was a very hard fought, highly contested game that we just did not win. We did not make enough plays down the stretch. I congratulate Coach Snyder and his squad for stepping it up in the second half and beating us.” Southern Fulton ends their season at 17-7. Shanksville (18-6) moves on to play for the District 5 Championship at Pitt-Johnstown next Friday vs Shade who defeated Turkeyfoot 81-65.
