Shippensburg Boys Basketball

In past year’s, a first round loss ended the season in the District 3 Class 5A tournament, but with ten teams moving on to the state tournament, one win moves you on. Shippensburg drew the toughest opponent they could in the opening game, as the Capital Division champion Milton Hershey Spartans sat at the other end of the bench.

Coming off a tough loss  to State College in the Mid-Penn championship, the Spartans came out on fire and put away the Greyhounds early and quickly. They led 21-7 en route to a 75-47 victory. The win moves the Spartans on to to face Garden Spot on Thursday while the Greyhounds travel to Dover for a consolation match on Thursday at 7:00 pm. A win would enable the Greyhounds to play another game next Monday.

Collin Taylor led the Greyhounds with 14 points while Carter Van Scyoc added 12.

Pedro Rodriguez of Milton Hershey led all scorers with 24 points.
