Southern Fulton 47, Juniata Valley 44
Southern Fulton’s boys basketball team (17-6) traveled to Claysburg-Kimmel HS on Saturday to take on the Juniata Valley Hornets (17-6) in the ICC Championships. SF overcame a 5-point halftime deficit to claim a 47-44 victory in a game that neither team led by more than 8. Mitchell Potter led SF with 15 points and 4 rebounds. Gabe Stotler chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds for the Indians. Cam Collins scored a game high 20 points for the Hornets. SF locked up Juniata Valley’s high-octane offense and took control of the game by holding the Hornets scoreless for almost 6 minutes over the 3rd and 4th quarters. Indian Coach Kent Hendershot said, “I am very happy for my team as they have worked tremendously hard all season and this was a nice reward. Our team defense and offensive execution was outstanding in the second half and really frustrated JV. To beat a team of that caliber is a great precursor for the district playoffs”.
