Forbes Road 53 McConnellsburg 49

Forbes Road (9-11, 5-10 SHL, 5-8 ICC) traveled into county rival McConnellsburg (7-11, 4-10 SHL, 4-8 ICC) and earned a hard fought win 53-49. Carl Harman led the Spartans with 17 points. Brycen Hohman led all scorers for the Cardinals with19 points. Grayson Hall added 15 in the win. Spartan Coach Drew Washabaugh commented, “We still are playing too inconsistent.  We battled back and had the lead and then, turned the ball over 3 straight possessions in the 4th.  Neither team shot real well, but they outshot us at the foul line.  We want to get to the foul line, but we have to be better than 25% to win close games.  That’s really bad free-throw shooting.  Give FR credit they made more shots in the 4th to win the game.” Cardinal Coach Trent Black said, “Another great County rivalry game that came down to the finish.  We were lucky to make enough key free-throws to hold on.” JV MHS 41 FR 37 – FR Brendon Lupey 10 and Kaden Kuhn 10. MHS Phillip Strait 10. McConnellsburg faces Broadfording Academy today (2/10), while Forbes Road will play their final regular season game on 2/13 when they travel to Tussey Mt.
