Chambersburg girls fall in final game

COLONIAL PARK — Chambersburg trailed by only five points at halftime, but Central Dauphin East closed with a good second half to hand the Trojans a 63-45 defeat in the girls basketball team’s season finale Tuesday night.

The Trojans put up good offensive production in the second quarter with 18 points, but the Panthers kept pace with 19 of their own.  East them outscored Chambersburg 18-6 in the decisive third period.

Ashley Adams led Chambersburg with 11 points, followed by Gabby Lecuona (10), Taylor Vrabel (9) and Ariana Burke (8).

The Trojans finished with a 7-15 record (1-13 MPC), a big improvement over the past two seasons, which produced only four wins total.

The top scorers were Adams (16.0 points per game), Vrabel (9.3), Burke (7.4) and Lecuona (6.8).
