The Shalom Christian Flames outscored the Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers 21-4 in the first quarter and cruised to a 62-32 victory Saturday evening in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference boys basketball game.
Shalom scored 15 of those first-quarter points on free throws and wound up 20-of-25 from the line for the game. The Blazers (5-12, 3-7 MDCC) shot 1-for-8 from the line and were outrebounded 38-26.
Senior Jesus Pena led the Blazers with 14 points and five assists. Freshman Blaine Minnier tossed in 11 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Junior Eli Black added four steals.
For Shalom, Stephen Wycoski scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Cameron Roseman added 17 points and 13 rebounds.
