Blazers fall to Faith Christian

The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers suffered through a long dry spell to start the fourth quarter and fell 60-56 Friday night to Faith Christian of Martinsburg, W. Va., in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference boys basketball game.

The Blazers (4-8, 2-4 MDCC) led by nine as late as the third quarter, but Faith trimmed the margin to 45-42 entering the fourth quarter. Faith went on a 13-0 run as the Blazers went scoreless for the first four-plus minutes of the final period.

Freshman Caleb Eckert led the Blazers with 18 points and nine rebounds. Senior Jesus Pena crept closer to the 1,000-point career mark with 14 points. Freshman Blaine Minnier contributed 13 points. Eli Black led the Blazers with six assists, and Nathan Statler had three blocked shots.

The Blazers play at Calvary Christian on Friday.
