MSD Wins Fannett Metal Christmas Tournament

A tough MSD team was too much for the Tigers and was crowned champion of the 45th Fannett Metal Christmas Tournament 64-33. Tiger Assistant Coach Tony Brookens said, “I thought our kids really played their hearts out both games.” The leading scorer for Fannett-Metal was Lucas Wingert with 12 points. Leading scorers for MSD were John Werner Jr. and Rory Lewis, both with 19. MSD’s John Werner was named MVP. The All-Tournament Team was as follows: Cam Roseman from Shalom; Stefan Anderson and Rory Lewis from MSD; Lucas Wingert from FM; and Dominick Reed from McConnellsburg. Fannett Metal will host Chestnut Ridge on January 3.

Consolation Game

Shalom Christian Academy 58 McConnellsburg 57

Despite a 32 point performance by Dominick Reed, the Spartans fell to Shalom Christian Academy 58-57 in the consolation round of the Fannett Metal Christmas Tournament. Cameron Roseman led the Flames with 22 points. Spartan Coach Drew Washabaugh said, “We have to figure out how to close out a game. Also, we need someone else other than Dom to score some points.” The Spartans next game will have them traveling to Tussey Mountain on January 3.
