HANOVER — Chambersburg’s girls basketball team left little doubt to the outcome of Friday night’s championship game of the Hanover Tournament right from the start.
The Trojans rolled to a 17-2 advantage after one quarter and secured a 50-38 victory over the host Hanover Nighthawks.
In the first period, Gabby Lecuona banged in a pair of 3-pointers and had 8 points for Chambersburg, Amanda Abbott hit one three and Ariana Burke cashed in three buckets for 6 points.
For the game, Lecuona finished with a season-high 15 points, including three 3-pointers, Ashley Adams tallied 13 points and Burke had 11.
The Trojans scored at least 10 points in each quarter and went 6-for-9 at the free throw line.
Chambersburg (4-5) is now 4-0 in tournaments and has won a pair of titles, but is 0-5 in Mid Penn Commonwealth play.
