Greencastle boys advance to East Pennsboro Holiday Tournament championship game

ga mascotThe Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils defeated Donegal 63-45 to advance to the championship round of the East Pennsboro Holiday Tournament. Jason Freeman had 19 points, including four three pointers to lead the Blue Devils. Bryan Gembe added 15 and Ian Gelsinger 14.

Greencastle will play Cedar Cliff  tomorrow night who held on to defeat East Pennsboro 65-57. The Colts had a 23 point lead midway through the fourth quarter. Tip off  is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at East Pennsboro High School. Mid Penn Broadcasting will livestream the game and it can also be heard on 93.7 FM WRGG and wrgg.org

The Blue Devils had a sluggish start but picked up the scoring later in the first quarter and trailed 16-10 when the quarter ended.Greencastle took charge the rest of the way outscoring the Indians 53-29 over the final three quarters.

Avery Walker had a big night for Donegal scoring 27 points including 12 of his teams 16 points in the first quarter and seven of the nine points Donegal scored in the second quarter.

Greencastle has now won five in a row and improves their record to 6-1. Donegal falls to 4-3.
