Tuesday night’s District V boys soccer semifinal saw #6 Fannett-Metal upset #2 McConnellsburg in dramatic fashion. The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Kyler Goshorn, assisted by Darston Warren. The second Tiger goal scored off a Spartan defender.
McConnellsburg battled back in the second half on goals by Landon Seiders and Brady Daniels. Then, F-M’s Noah Buzulak found the back of the net with nine seconds left for the win. Colby Adams had 10 saves in goal for the Tigers.
The win sets up a rematch of last year’s District V Championship between Fannett-Metal and Windber, which defeated Hope for Hyndman. The championship game will be played played Thursday, at Northern Bedford High School at 6:30.
