The Lady Spartans won a thrilling game Monday night to advance to the District V girls soccer final, beating Conemaugh Township in sudden death penalty kicks. The lone Spartan goal was scored by Emma Kendall 10 minutes into the second half. Conemaugh Township tied the game with 10 minutes left in regulation.
After two rounds of penalty kicks, Emma Ott connected in sudden death for the game winner. Kellyn Perry was fantastic in the goal for the Spartans, recording 17 saves, including numerous saves during the shoot-out, to keep the Spartans alive. The Lady Spartans play Windber on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Northern Bedford High school at 7:00 for the District V Championship.
