The Lady Spartans opened the first round of the District V girls Class A soccer playoffs on Saturday with a 3-1 win over visiting Berlin. The goals were: Emma Kendall (assist, Emma Ott ), Kiara Pensinger (assist, Jensen Boehme), and Morgan Kendall (assist, Jensen Boehme). Goalkeeper Kellyn Perry had eight saves.

The Lady Spartans will play Conemaugh Township, which defeated North Star, on Monday at Northern Bedford at 7:00 in a semifinal game.
