FIELD HOCKEY
Chambersburg 1, Bishop McDevitt 0: The Trojans snapped a 10-game losing skid by edging the Crusaders in a makeup game Saturday at Trojan Stadium.
Chambersburg (3-13) got the goal in the second half. Rachel Dusman made the pass and Molly Keefer popped the ball into the cage for the game-winner.
GIRLS SOCCER
Chambersburg 3, Greencastle-Antrim 1: The Trojans (6-10) rolled to a 2-0 lead and defeated the Blue Devils in a non-league girls soccer game Saturday at Kaley Field.
Layne Kimple scored the first goal in the 8th minute, then a cross from Kimple was headed into the goal by Emily Bard. Ashley Noblit picked up a loose ball to score G-A’s goal, but Chambersburg’s Gabby Lecuona sealed the win with a goal in the 77th minute after a through pass from Lauren Ocker.
“We played well and created a lot of opportunities, but had a hard time finding the back of the net because Greencastle’s defense was very stingy,” Trojan coach Ed Franchi said. “Their new coach (Aric Brunner) has done a good job developing the team.”
