East Pennsboro 4, Chambersburg 2: The Trojans fell behind 2-0 to the Panthers after one half, then tied it up in the second half before giving up a pair of late goals to fall 4-2 in a non-league game Monday afternoon.
Emily Bard tallied the first goal and Ashlynn Swanger converted a penalty kick to enable Chambersburg (4-9) to tie the score. Incredibly, those two goals were the first scored against the Panthers (15-0) all season.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
State College 3, Chambersburg 0: The Little Lions swarmed over the Trojans on Monday evening, winning games of 25-15, 25-19 and 25-20 in a Mid Penn Commonwealth match at CASHS Field House.
Chambersburg assistant coach Bobby Culler said, “State College played a solid match and their defense frustrated our offense. We struggled to terminate the play tonight.”
Leaders for the Trojans (7-5, 6-5 MPC) included Bailee Nitterhouse (17 digs), Ashley Adams (10 kills), Lauren Ching (23 assists) and Chelsea Layman (2 aces). Also, Nitterhouse had 7 kills, Ansley Runk had 9 digs and Lexi Anderson led in service points with 7.
