The Waynesboro Indians (3-2 2-0) are scheduled for another tough contest as they take on the West Perry Mustangs (2-3 2-0) this tomorrow night at 7 PM at Waynesboro Senior High School.
Waynesboro is coming of a 2 game winning streak beating rival Shippensburg and Northern York in pretty convincing fashion.
Waynesboro’s Quarterback Isaiah Kershner was able to open the field up last week for the first time all year completing seven passes for close to 200 yards, and as always, making something out of what should be a sack into a positive gain.
West Perry had a tough start to the season dropping their first three games, but Coach Devin Whitfield turned the season around and won their last two Mid- Penn Colonial match ups.
This will be a fun game to watch considering both teams are undefeated in conference play and the winner will be in the driver seat for the rest of the season.
West Perry’s Quarterback Dom Salinetro is someone Coach Steve Myers needs to game plan around. The Indians rely on their tough defense all year so far but this is the first time they will be facing an effective passer.
Boro’s front seven have been very successful shutting down the run, but this week it will be up to Safety Dalton Mowen and the rest of the defensive backs to step up for Waynesboro to win this game.
In last years contest the Indians rolled the Mustangs 63-15, but I do not believe this year will turn out the same result. This is a make or break game for both teams as the winner will control their own destiny and first place in the Colonial division.
