Shippensburg Greyhounds (3-0) travel to play the Waynesboro Indians (1-2) this Friday, September 22nd. Week three marks the start of Mid-Penn Colonial Conference match ups for both teams.
In last years contest, Shippensburg started off strong building a 24-7 half time lead and hold of Waynesboro’s strong second half comeback to win 24-21.
Shippensburg is taking care of business this season winning each of their 3 games this season, however, never having a dominant performance against any of their opponents where the game could have gone either way.
Waynesboro is coming off a touch road loss against Gettysburg 14-13, where they could not take advantage of their opportunities in the second half.
On paper, Ship looks like the stronger team having 45 more points scored this season than Boro does. Defensively, both teams have similar statistics with only 60 points given up through the first 3 games.
I believe that this game will fall into the hands of how the Indians play. Shippensburg is expecting Waynesboro to run the ball with Matt Frampton and Tom Drumstra, which leaves coach Steve Myers to rely heavily on QB Isaiah Kershner and his offensive line.
This game is scheduled for September 22nd at 7:00 PM at Waynesboro Senior High School.
