GIRLS SOCCER
Chambersburg 1, Red Land 0, OT: The Trojans (4-5, 1-5 MPC) earned their first Mid Penn Commonwealth Division win. In the second overtime, Chambersburg’s Eliza Bellows found Emily Mort with a pass after Mort made an overlapping run. Mort then crossed the ball and it was one-timed into the net by Emily Bard.
Trojan coach Ed Franchi said, “It was was a back-and-forth game, but I think we had the majority of the run of play. We just couldn’t find the back of the net. Red Land’s defense played very well.”
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Cumberland Valley 3, Chambersburg 0: The Eagles scored wins of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-22 to hand the Trojans a Mid Penn Commonwealth Division defeat on Thursday.
“Cumberland Valley is a solid team and they played really good defense throughout the match,” Chambersburg coach Ty Frelin said.
For the Trojans (3-3, 3-3 MPC), Bailee Nitterhouse had 7 kills and 13 digs, Ashley Adams had 10 kills and Lauren Ching had 22 assists and 13 digs.
BOYS SOCCER
Chambersburg 8, Red Land 1: The Trojans improved to 4-2-2 (3-2-1 MPC).
