Football Preview: G-A hosts Milton Hershey

When the Greencastle-Antrim high school football team walked off Kaley Field last Friday night, morale was high, very high.

They had celebrated 50 years of football at G-A, they had celebrated 30 years of head coach Chuck Tinninis, had celebrated previous players and classes, and they did it all while beating Chambersburg 28-7.

The Blue Devils (1-0) will look to keep that momentum going as they host Milton Hershey (0-1) Friday night at 7 p.m.

Coming off the heels of over 300 yards on the ground and a perfect 5-5 passing attack, G-A will look for some redemption. Last year when they visited the Spartans, they got beat 41-3.

Look for G-A to continue to run the football and attempt to control the clock, starting with Senior QB Cade McDowell, who led the way last week with 86 yards on the ground, 75 in the air, and 2 touchdowns. The Blue Devils are plenty deep in the backfield, using at least 4 other rushers to contribute to those 300-plus yards rushing.

On the other side of the ball, G-A will look to build on a strong defensive performance; last week they held Chambersburg to just 7 points and fewer than 180 total yards.
