Greencastle rolls in District 14 opener

SHIPPENSBURG-The Greencastle Little League International All-Stars 11-12 scored nine runs in the first inning and went on to defeat Bermudian Springs 15-0 at Doc Norcross Stadium in Shippensburg in the District 14 pool play opener in a game that ended with the run rule after three innings.

Nash Mann led off with a single in the top of the first and advanced to third when the ball was misplayed in the outfield. Bryce Eaton followed with an RBI single to make it 1-0. Greencastle would go on to score eight more runs and send fifteen batters to the plate in the first inning. Jayden Conley ripped a two-run double, and Greencastle took advantage of five walks, two hit batters, and three Bermudian Springs errors to build its lead.

Greencastle added four more runs in the second inning as Issac Snodderly and Jake Tracey each produced a two-run single to make it 13-0.

Kale Srait ended it with a two-run double in the bottom of the third inning.

Noah Sleighter went the distance for Greencastle, allowing just two hits and striking out six.

Nash Mann and Bryce Eaton each had two hits for Greencastle.

Greencastle will play Shippensburg on Wednesday night in Shippensburg at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Mid Penn Broadcasting 

Greencastle 10U defeated Pen Mar 23-0 at Newville in their opener.
