HERSHEY — Central Dauphin pitcher Autumn Andreoli worked her magic against Greencastle-Antrim on Friday evening in the Mid Penn Conference softball championship game.
The left-hander shut out the Blue Devils on two hits and led the Rams to a 5-0 victory at Hershey H.S.
The Blue Devils (17-4) now enter the District 3 Class 5A tournament as the No. 2 seed. They will host a quarterfinal game Thursday against the winner of Monday’s first-round game between (7) Lampeter-Srasburg (15-5) and (10) Twin Valley (15-4).
Andreoli allowed just 2 walks and struck out 13 Greencastle batters. The hits, both singles, were produced by Brooklyn Sanchez. Of her 95 pitches, Andreoli threw 71 strikes.
Kiersten Swain (8-4) started for Greencastle, giving up 5 runs on 9 hits and 5 walks — all 5 runs were scored in the bottom of the fourth inning. Katie Zawilinski held CD in check for the final 2 innings on two hits and a walk.
Central Dauphin (20-1) had four players with multiple hits — Abby Rheem was 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs, Gabby Shirk was 3-for-4 with one RBI, Kayla Fletcher was 2-for-2 with 2 walks and Alyssa Hill was also 2-for-2.
