Chbg. roundup: Girls lax competes well with CV

GIRLS LACROSSE
Cumberland 16, Chambersburg 7: Against a high-powered Eagles team, the Trojans played hard, but were defeated by CV in a Mid Penn Commonwealth clash Monday night at Trojan Stadium.

Adele Henry

Chambersburg coach Shane Henry said, “We played extremely tough tonight; our defense was efficient and really worked hard. CV has a really solid group of seniors.”

Adele Henry led the Trojans (1-2, 1-2 MPC) with 4 goals and added a groundball and a caused turnover, while Reagan Barrett scored 3 times.

Brynn Sekel came up with 3 caused TOs, 2 groundballs and 6 draw controls. Ava Daywalt added 2 caused turnovers and goalie Reese Heverley made 10 stops.

Coach Henry said, “Adele had an impressive game tonight. She was great on defense and created opportunities for herself on offense.

“I’m really excited to see how this team continues to improve every game.”

Ryan Cosey
