Southern Fulton (8-0, 2-0) topped Rappahannock 4-2 on Saturday for the second time in two days.
Rappahannock opened the scoring in the second after a two out single scored two runs.
SF was able to capitalize on a fielding miscue by Rappahannock to close the gap at 2-1 in the top of the third.
The opportunistic Indians converted on another big error, which helped the Indians tie the game at two in the top of the fourth.
In the top of the fifth inning, Southern Fulton went back into the lead after Rappahannock committed an error, and Jett Burger singled down the left field line, each scoring one run making it 4-2.
Jr, Trentin Cain (1-0) earned the win for Southern Fulton. The pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Fr, Colt Mann pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Southern Fulton. The righty gave up two hits and zero runs while, striking out three and walking three. Scheffien took the loss for Rappahannock. The hurler went five innings, giving up four runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking three.
Mark Fitz and Burger were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Southern Fulton. Burger went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Southern Fulton in hits. The Southern Fulton defense was flawless all day and turned a huge double play in the bottom of the 7th inning to quell another Red Raider rally.
