The Shalom Lady Flames’ impressive 12-game winning streak came to an abrupt end on Tuesday night as the Linville Hill Lady Warriors defeated them 45-37.
While the Flames played solid defense for most of the game, the Warriors stepped up with even stronger defensive pressure, disrupting the Flames’ usually fluid offense. The Flames started well but struggled to maintain momentum as turnovers plagued them throughout all four quarters. Despite the challenges, the Flames managed to stay within reach, trailing by just 6 points at halftime. They cut the lead to 4 at one point in the second half, but missed opportunities ultimately sealed their fate, handing them their third loss of the season.
Addison Adams led the Flames with 13 points, effectively containing the Warriors’ top scorer below her season average. Emily Rebok added 12 points, and freshman Sydney Moore contributed 7 points. Kaitlyn Thomas made a big impact in the paint with 6 rebounds and 5 blocks, while Maya Lehman added 6 boards. Julianna Myers continued to shine defensively, holding her own against larger opponents.
Next up, the Flames hit the road to face the Chambersburg Lady Trojans in a “high noon” matchup on Saturday, February 8th, at the Trojan gym.
