Mid Penn Colonial golf match opens 2024 fall season

Locals go 1-2: Franklin County golfers captured 3 of the top 5 positions Tuesday as the area’s fall season kicked off with a Mid Penn Colonial Division match at Greencastle Golf Club.

Waynesboro’s Tyler Fortney was the medalist with his 5-over par round of 77.  Shippensburg newcomer Kaydee Beckenbaugh was next in line with a 78, while Ship’s Jack Johnson was one of three players to fire a 79 and tie for third.

The Greyhounds ended up placing second with 327 strokes, just 6 behind Northern. Waynesboro (338) was third, Greencastle-Antrim (344) was fourth and James Buchanan (368) was fifth.

Camden Eby of Greencastle placed in a tie for sixth with JB’s Adam Stock with a score of 81, and G-A’s Brody Granger and Austin Keller each shot 83, along with ‘Boro’s Farin Parks, to tie for 10th.
