McConnellsburg falls to Shalom in F-M Holiday Hoops

Shalom Christian Academy defeated McConnellsburg in the 50th Annual Fannett Metal Holiday Hoops Tournament 65-57. The Flame avenged a five point loss to McConnellsburg last week.

Head Coach Joshua Lowery said “Tonight, we wouldn’t be so lucky, leading into the half we got up 31-27. We fought through a tough back and forth 3rd quarter but in the end the Flames would take the lead entering the 4th quarter up 49-42 at this point the kept the lead even having us down 65-47 late in the 4th but we would put on a run but unfortunately, we fell short 65-57”

Lowery went on to say “  The well coached Flames along with guard Ethan Hurbers scoring 26 of the Flames 65 points 9 in the fourth quarter simply wanted it more than us. They played with more energy longer than us tonight. We played flat as a team and it showed late, we will watch some film and learn from our defensive breakdowns. But even though we suffered the loss, the fight late in the fourth was a great thing to watch as a coach and staff, we will build on it!”
