Fannett-Metal Posts Solid Win Over Everett 63-48

The Tigers(9-8, 8-3 ICC) travelled to Everett on Monday evening for an ICC contest and came home with a 63-48 victory.  F-M took a 16-12 lead after the first quarter and went into the half up 31-21.  Hunter Hill came out hot in the first half as he had 23 of the Tigers first half points.  “Hunter had probably one of his best all around games of the season tonight”,  F-M Coach Paul Coffman said.

In the second half, the Warriors made a run in the third quarter to trim the lead to 43-37 after three quarters.  “In the third, we forced some shots, turned it over a few times and got beat in transition and the next thing you know they are back in the game.  But other than that lapse in the 3rd, we played solid defensively all night and made them work hard to score”, Coffman said.  The Tigers closed out the game early in the 4th to bring home a 63-48 victory.

Hill led the way for the Tigers finishing with a game high 36 points.  He also added 6 rebounds and 8 steals.  Wyatt Appleby had 16 points and 6 rebounds.   Luke Coffman had 8 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and a pair of steals.  Ayden Warren finished with 3 points and 2 steals.  Evan Wingert had 3 steals.   “I thought Luke and Ayden really got after it on defense tonight, and Evan gave us some valuable minutes off the bench”, Coffman said.  It was senior night for the Warriors and seniors Macen Akers 14 points and Calvin Iseminger 11 points led the way.
The Tigers will go on the road Wednesday for an ICC matchup at Claysburg-Kimmel.
