Chambersburg 3, Altoona 0: The Trojans finished off a huge week with its fourth consecutive victory and avenged a loss to Altoona from the previous week. Chambersburg won close games of 27-25, 25-23 and 25-20.
“This was a scrappy match and we played with confidence and a desire to win,” Trojan assistant coach Bobby Culler said. “Altoona served us tough and we struggled at times with our out of system swings. But we made the plays when we needed to and came out with a big win.”
Chambersburg (9-7, 5-6 MPC), with its 4-0 record over the last eight days, has fought back into the top 16 in the District 3 power rankings with one match left.
“It’s definitely been a big week,” Culler said.
Raelyn Johnson had a big hand in the win, collecting 7 service points, 2 blocks, 6 kills and 9 digs.
Ashli Ganoe led in assists (9) and points (12), Kate Etter had 5 kills and 8 assists, Addi Kegerreis had 5 kills and Riley Lilley served for 8 points.
