Chambersburg 3, Altoona 2: Gabby Lecuona scored the final two goals to help the Trojans overcome a 2-0 deficit in a non-league victory over Altoona on Saturday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions got their second goal four minutes into the second half. Nine minutes later, Layne Kimple scored unassisted to get Chambersburg (6-6) started.
Lecuona then tied it up with 7:20 left on a pass from Alex Cottingham. Just 2:03 later, Lecuona found the net again to score the game-winner. It was her 12th goal of the season.
“After the second goal we woke up and started playing the way we can,” Trojan coach Ed Franchi said, “possessing the ball, being more aggressive and moving without the ball.
“Everybody was playing flat at first, and then everybody played very well. The challenge is to play with the same determination and drive the whole game. When they play the way they are capable of playing, they are a joy to watch.”
