The No. 4 seed Bears (15-3-1) collected a 5-0 victory at home over the Blue Devils to advance into the quarterfinals, where they will face No. 5 Kennard-Dale (16-2) on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Greencastle finished a fine season with an 11-6 record.
“It was an intensely defensive game tonight,” G-A coach Keara Allshouse said. “Our entire team played focused defense the entire game.”
Elizabethtown was awarded a total of 20 penalty corners, but Greencastle allowed only 2 goals in those situations.
For the Blue Devils on defense, goalie Katy Bream mad 6 saves, Maggie Spidel and Emma Stouffer each made 3 defensive saves and Gabby Burns had one defensive stop.
Allshouse said, “The girls worked hard, kept their heads high and played to the final whistle. It’s been a fantastic season for us.”
