Greencastle-Antrim 3, Central Dauphin East 0: The Blue Devils may have played their way into a District 3 Class 3A playoff berth by beating the Panthers in a non-league game Tuesday night at Kaley Field.
After the win, Greencastle, which finished the regular season with an 11-5-2 record, moved into the No. 16 spot in the rankings and the top 16 qualify for the playoffs. Games through Thursday count toward the rankings, so changes could happen.
Mason DeVaughn had a big night for the Blue Devils — he scored a goal and assisted on the other two goals, which were scored by Caleb Noll and Biruk Facchina.
G-A goalkeeper Evan Shaull recorded a shutout over CD East (8-7-2).
“The captains really set the tone tonight, from our pregame talk to halftime and all the way to the final word at the end,” Greencastle coach Ryan Palmer said. “This is very much a player-coached sport and that showed tonight.”
