Chambersburg 1, Cedar Ciff 0: A goal midway through the second half broke a scoreless tie and led the Trojans to a Mid Penn Commonwealth victory at Lowther Field on Saturday afternoon.
“The first half was pretty even, with both teams having a few chances,” Chambersburg coach Marc Furfaro said. “Edwin Ramirez is finally healthy again for us, which is huge. He calmed us down and distributed the ball really well.”
In the 60th minute, Bramere Pittman played a through ball around the Cedar Cliff defense, Deklin Shank ran onto it and sent a tough-angled shot into the net for the game’s only goal.
Furfaro said, “After that we had to grind it out because they were putting us under a lot of pressure. Our goalkeeper, Brayden Shoop, came up with some huge saves near the end of the game to let us keep the lead and get us a big win.”
Chambersburg is 6-5-1 (3-4-1 MPC). The Colts are 6-5-4.
