G-A roundup: Field hockey, Medina stay on hot streaks

FIELD HOCKEY
Greencastle-Antrim 7, Waynesboro 1: The Blue Devils won their fourth straight game and Natalie Medina continued on a scorching hot scoring spree in a Mid Penn Colonial win over the Maidens on the road Tuesday night.

Medina knocked in 5 goals to lead the attack for Greencastle (9-3, 8-2 MPC), while Rowan Shubert and Emily Fowler each found the back of the cage.Medina has 11 goals over the last 3 games.

The catalyst of the offense was Sydnee Bosko, who had 5 assists. and Caroline Barnes had 1. Goalie Katy Bream contributed 3 saves.

G-A coach Keara Allshouse said, “We did a really good job of moving the ball and keeping possession. The girls had very purposeful passes and Bosko was distributing the ball inside the circle. (Ava) Linka and (Gabby) Burns stepped up a lot on defense to help keep possession and distribute the ball.”

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Greencastle-Antrim 3, West Perry 0: The Blue Devils won their third contest in the last four on Tuesday evening in Elliottsburg, taking down the Mustangs in a Mid Penn Colonial game.

Greencastle (7-5, 6-3 MPC) won three competitive games, 25-19, 25-22 and 25-21.

Hayden Baer collected 13 kills and added 9 service points to lead the Blue Devils. Chloe Young led with 10 service points and added a pair of blocks.

Alex Seville and Scarlett Norton each had 10 digs, while Madison McDonald contributed 9. Jordyn Wagner slammed down 9 kills, Ryane Kueppers blocked two balls, Kira Johnson racked up 23 assists and Terryn Bard had 10 assists.
