Chambersburg 2, Greencastle-Antrim 1: Maddie Mills tallied a pair of goals inside the final 10 minutes of the game and the Trojans rallied to beat the Blue Devils in a non-league game at Kaley Field on Thursday night.
G-A’s Sadie Burns scored the first goal off a corner kick taken by Lily Black and the Blue Devils (3-2) had the advantage in play in the first half.
“It was a pretty even game in terms of possession until they scored on that corner,” Chambersburg coach Paul Unruh said. “Momentum went back and forth. Then after a buildup of play, Maddie found some space just outside the 18 and was able to put her shot over the keeper to tie the score.”
With three minutes left in regulation, Marley Onomastico played Mills in behind their defense and she finished the goal by slotting it past the keeper to lift the Trojans (2-4) to the win and snap a 4-game losing skid.
Unruh said, “Kynnedy Beecher played a great game at wing and Kingdom McLatchy was a solid component of our back line.”
Greencastle coach Jonathan Lewis said, “I thought we dominated the first half and went ahead late in the first half. We had a ton of chances, but their goalkeeper (Ashley Mitchell) was up for the task today. She played a great game.”
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Chambersburg 3, Altoona 0: After pulling out a close first-game win (26-24), the Trojans handily defeated the Mountain Lions in the next two to earn a Mid Penn Commonwealth victory on the road Thursday evening.

The next two sets were wins by Chambersburg (4-1, 2-1 MPC), 25-14 and 25-11.
“After a slow start and some unforced errors, we played real well in the second and third set,” Trojan coach Ty Frelin said. “Defensively, we frustrated them and forced them to make mistakes. All in all, it was a pretty solid match.”
On defense, Lexi Poe led with 15 digs, while Kasey Moser and Kylee Perry each produced 13. Maddie Rydbom led in blocks with two.
On offense, Moser spiked 14 kills, Olivia Shearer had 8 and Ayla Whiteley added 5. Perry (16) and Grace Myers (14) led in assists.
In the serving department, Perry led with 10 points, while Myers and Moser each scored 8.
