Greencastle-Antrim 28, Boiling Springs 31: A fairly tight group of Blue Devils finished less than 3 minutes apart and it was enough to edge the Bubblers in a Mid Penn Colonial meet Tuesday on the home course to open the season.
Greencastle had 3 consecutive placers, from 3rd to 5th, with Billy Bender (20:13) taking third, Micah Bennett (20:19) finishing fourth and Kelson Wenger (20:20) taking fifth — just 3 seconds between them.
The other scorers for the Blue Devils were Ace Monn in 7th in 21:27 and Liam Eckstine was 9th in 22:59.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Boiling Springs 15, Greencastle-Antrim 55: The Blue Devils had only two runners and were defeated by the Bubblers in a Mid Penn Colonial meet at home on Tuesday afternoon.
Lillian Denlinger placed 6th in 27:45 and Monica Schemel followed her across the line in 7th in 27:51.
