Kaden Saunders drove in five runs on three hits to lead SoFo (15-2, 6-2) past Forbes Road High School 20-0 on Thursday at Forbes Road Jr-Sr High School. Saunders doubled off the fence in the first scoring two, singled in the third scoring one, doubled in the third scoring two.
SoFo jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Paul Hendershot doubled, scoring one run, Austin Mann singled, scoring one run, Saunders doubled, scoring one run, Owen Oakman singled, scoring one run, Brady Dressel singled, scoring one run, Colt Mann hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Hendershot singled, scoring one run, Mann singled, scoring one run, and Brooks Norris singled, scoring two runs.
The Indians added one run in the second. Charlie Weicht singled down the left field line, making the score 11-0.
SoFo scored nine runs on six hits in the top of the third inning. Saunders singled, scoring two runs, Weicht drew a walk, scoring one run, Easton Conley singled, scoring two runs, Mann singled, scoring one run, Mann doubled, scoring one run, and Saunders doubled, scoring two runs.
Norris earned the win for SoFo Indians. The starter gave up one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Sil Hollibaugh took the loss for Forbes Road High School. The pitcher went one inning, surrendering four runs on four hits, striking out none and walking one. Cam Cain pitched one inning of scoreless ball for SoFo Indians in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking none.
SoFo Indians tallied 17 hits in the game. Norris, Saunders, and Mann each collected three hits for SoFo Indians. Conley and Hendershot each collected multiple hits for SoFo Indians. SoFo Indians had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Weicht and Dressel led the team with two bases on balls each.
SoFo will travel to Bedford Bisons for their next game on Tuesday at 4:00pm.
