GIRLS TRACK & FIELD
Chambersburg 94, Carlisle 56:
The Trojans placed first in 12 events and handed the Thundering Herd a Mid Penn Commonwealth defeat on Tuesday on the road.

“We had a really, really good day,” Chambersburg coach Chris Monheim said. “This was our most complete team effort of the season and we had some outstanding results.”

Marlee Jackson picked up wins in both hurdles events, hitting 16.8 in the 100 hurdles and 49.45 in the 300. The 4×100 relay team of Natalia Anderson, Dechea Davis, Bree Paetow and Addy Brubaker won in 49.61 and the 4×400 team of Brubaker, Olivia Coy, Paetow and Maggie Holtry was first in 4:03.6.

“Marlee was very impressive in both events and showed a lot of guts to win the 300,” Monheim said. “The 4×100 posted another sub-50 time, and the 4×400 ran one of our program’s fastest times ever, and every girl had a personal best split.”

On the track for Chambersburg (5-2, 5-2 MPC), Davis captured the 100 in 12.52 and Brubaker ran 27.17 to take the 200.

Field winners included Mikaila Collins in the shot put (32-0), Fi Richards in the discus (119-1), Coy in the triple jump (34-6.5), Addie Zimmerman in the long jump (15-10.25), Sienna Scott in the high jump (5-0) and Ada Velazquez in the pole vault (9-0).

Monheim said, “Natalie Quinn went 5:10 in the 1600 (2nd behind the Herd’s Ana Bondy’s 5:07.7), which puts her in our top 10 list. We were very strong in the field events, highlighted by Richards having another strong throw in the discus and Olivia Coy being consistent in the triple jump all season long.”
