BOYS BASKETBALL
Central Dauphin 56, Chambersburg 38: In two tries, the Trojans have not been able to solve the Rams’ defensive pressure and were defeated Wednesday night in a Mid Penn Commonwealth game at CASHS Field House.

Landon Buhrman

CD (14-4, 9-1 MPC) has beaten Chambersburg (10-5, 6-4 MPC), which had won 6 straight games, by 20 and 18 points.

“They do things that we cannot duplicate in practice,” Trojan coach Shawn Shreffler said. “Preparation is so important to our success and we have been doing a really good job of it over the last few weeks. However, we just have a really hard time simulating their pressure in practice.”

Central Dauphin led 25-17 at the half and still had an 8-point lead entering the fourth quarter. But CD pulled away with a 20-10 bulge in the final period.

Landon Buhrman was the only Trojan to reach double figures, with 10 points. Josh Rudy and Grayson Kegerreis each scored 5 points.

For CD, Shakur Starling was on target with 19 points.

Shreffler said, “We’ll do everything we can to learn from this, but right now we have to put it behind us and focus on preparing for our nest game, because that’s critical to us getting better.”
